1) Building permit

With gratitude to Hashem, we are happy to announce that after many years of anticipation (and bureaucracy) we received the final building permit, (which is valid for a year), and we are looking forward to start with the building. We would like to thank R' Yeshayahu Schneller for all the many hours of work he invested in arranging the permit, and in the building project in general.

1) New Ashkenaz Minyon:

IYH on this coming Shabbos, Shabbos Parshas נח, a new Western Ashkenazi Minyon will be opened in EY, in Haifa, following the Minhogim and using the authentic Ashkenaz melodies. The address is 3 Geulah St., 2nd floor.

On shabbos Parshas נח mincho will start at 6:07 followed by Kabbollas Shabbos and Arvis.

2) Moreinu - Title of Kovoud bestowed upon HaRav Don Ison שליטא:

On Rosh Hashono, Harav Don Ison, who has been giving Shiurim in our Kehilloh for over 10 years, was given the title of Moreinu, as per the Houro'oh of Moreh Moreinu Horav Yehudoh Gans shlit'o, and from now is called Moreinu Horav Don Ison. Moreinu Harav Don Ison shlit'o has Semicho from Rav Yitzchok Kulitz Zt'l and (Lhbh'l) from Rav Zalman Nechemyah Goldberg Shlit'o.

3) Updates to KAYJ website:

In the last few days there have been several updates to the Nusach project. The recordings for Birkas Youtzer and Ahavo Rabbo for שמחת תורה have been posted, and by the end of the week we hope to post these recordings for the rest of the Chagim, the high holidays, and Shabbos. In addition the special Kaddeishim for שמחת תורה are planned to be released.

A new page containing some of the shiurim given by our Rov has been put up, and IYH will be brought up-to-date by the end of the week.

2) A new Minyon in Ramat Eshkol area

We are happy to inform our mailing list, that a new Yekkish Minyon is in the process of being formed in Ramat Eshkol area, (Jerusalem).

There is already a nice group of people who would like to start the Minyon, and they are now looking for a place in which they can hold the Davening. 3) Eiruv Techumin:

Our Rov, Harav Yehudoh Gans Shlito, has made a permanent Eiruv Techumin for whoever is Machmir not to rely on the Jerusalem Eiruv for Techumin. People from other neighborhoods of Jerusalem who would like to walk to shul can rely now on the Eiruv Techumin which is in shul.

2) Article about KAY Beitar, by Michael Friedman

On Shabbos Parshas בהעלותך, I was invited to join KAY Beitar for the Shabbos with my family, aiming to increase the link between the communities, and hoping that both communities would be able to learn from each other. Since I had never been to Beitar before for Shabbos, I wasn't sure how it would be, and I just hoped for the best.

As we arrived there, we were overwhelmed by their special hospitality. The hosts at Beitar organised all our needs and much more, in a wonderful way. It was heartwarming to see the beautiful shul they have, and when I got to their shul I felt immediately at home. I was asked to Daven for the Omud (תפילות שבת), and it was very inspiring to hear the way the congregation joined the singing so sweetly. We sung two choir pieces at Friday night, and the congregation was familiar with them as well (although they don't have a local choir yet). Overall the people there care very much about the shul and their heritage, and they put in a lot of effort to make sure the shul runs as it should.

We enjoyed Shabbos very much, and I warmly recommend that anyone who happens to be in Beitar, should go and join the Davening there.
