Blessing the children

I did a search on this I promise. Do we bless the children on Friday night with one hand or two? Do we do the boys in shul and everyone else at home?

So I inquired about this to a man at KA in Kiryat Sefer and he told me there's no fixed custom on # of hands. Since the MA practice generally is to say birchos cohanim (yivarechecha) along with the regular bracha, some do two. Also many in MA do it 3x, once at night, once schacharis, and once motzei shabbos. Most do all at home. Some do in shul if kids are grown up, davening with you, but going home to their own houses.

Do women also bless the kids 3x and do they do it when the men do it or can they do it at some other time?
