misc. resources on Yekkish Minhagim was created by Altgold
Can anyone recommend some English language resources on Yekkish and/or Austrian Jewish customs, books, etc.? I'd love to find some more information on this colorful aspect of the practice of Judaism to enhance my yiddishkeit and connect myself presently to such an important aspect of our past.

We'll be happy to post recommendations for English data about the Minhogim that our forum members will send.

In Hebrew there are the volumes of Shorshei Minhag Ashkenaz and the other publications of MMA .

To read about first hand accounts of Jewish-German life I reccomend:

1) "The Memoirs of Glückel of Hameln‎" trans. Marvin Lowenthal (the 1700's)
2) "Jewish Life in The Village Communities of Southern Germany" by Hugo Mandelbaum (the early 1900's)

Although not Minhagim books, they do discuss many minhagim.

Who knows the small book with the title: Kohelet Schlomo, Frankfurt 1919, Blogg (Author?)? Its about basic halachos and minhogim, Hebrew and some German translation.
I am interested from which tradition it comes and who is the author?
Who knows something about it?
Thanks.

The book Kohelet Shlomo was written by Shlomo Zalman London, a Polish Jew (living in London) who learned in Frankfurt about 300 years ago.
The book is a collection of Brochos and Kabolo, and is meant to cover things that where left out in the Machzorim. (It has nothing to do with Minhogei Frankfurt). It became very popular, and was printed many times.

He also published the book Matei Moshe (which was written by a Talmid of the Maharshal) and added on to it Minhogei Frankfurt.
