Saying pesukim as part of Kiddusho Rabbo was created by Melech
In general, the Ari and/or his talmidim are cited as the source for reciting pesukim as part of the day Kiddush. However, the Baer Siddur cites the Kol Bo as a source for saying Veshomru before Borei Pri Hagofen during the Kiddush of Shabbos day. Is there any source in the Rishonim and/or ksav yad that indicates a minhog for saying Zachor es Yom Hashabbos, or a minhog of saying pesukim of Yom Tov before the day Kiddush, or do those pesukim have no source for saying them during Kiddush earlier than that that of the Ari?

In Shorshei Minhag Ashkenaz (part 2 page 300-304) the history of Kiddush in the morning is brought, and it seems that there is an old source only for Veshomru.
