Is there an Ashkenzic custom to wear a gartel during general davening or specific events as is common in Chassidic circles?

There was no special belt for the davening according to minhag Ashkenaz, and one's every day belt (or trousers etc.) was considered enough to be mekayem the Halocho "shlou yihe libou rou'eh es ho'ervo".
