Kabbalas Shabbos/L'cha Dodi was created by Daniel
R' Hamburger says that the Gra and R' Nosson Adler were against reciting L'cha Dodi (and the rest of Kabbalas Shabbos?). I know that up until WWII it was a big machlokes if Kabbolas Shabbos should be accepted and this is why the Shatz stands in different places at differing points. What exactly was this machlokes based around? Is it just an aversion to adding something that was never the Minhag or are there additional factors?

Also, I understand that according to Minhag Frankfurt the chazzan starts out at the amud for tehillim, moves to the bimah for Lecha Dodi and then back to the amud right before barchu. In the german shuls I have davened in (some that claim to follow minhag Frankfurt) I have seen the chazzan start out at the bimah for tehillim until barchu and then move to the amud. What is the correct procedure? It would seem that since even the saying of tehillim was controversial and as such it would make sense that the chazzan go to the amud only right before barchu.

The Gr'o was opposed to adding in public new parts to Davening that are not brought in Chazzal, because of Tircho Detziburo.
We don't have any evidence that R' Nosson Adler had opposition to saying Kabbolas Shabbos, but in his shul Kabbolas Shabbos was not said because in his time it was not yet widespread, and was only done by individuals which were called "Chevre Mekablei Shabbos", (this was already found in the time of the Yosef Ometz, 5390). Even after Rav Hirsch brought it into the shul as a fixed nusach, in R' Nosson Adler's shul they continued his minhag and did not say Kabbolas Shabbos.

In FFAM there was Hakpodo to make a difference between old Minhogim and new Hanhogos, (and for this reason, in the last 60 Tekios on Rosh Hashono the Ba'al Tokea does not stand next to the Bimoh as he does in the first 40 Tekios, but he stands next to the Rovs place), and since Seder Kabbolas Shabbos is something new, but saying Tehillim before Davening is not something new and was done before Shacharis every day, Lecho Dodi which definitely is a new Hanhogo is said by the Bimah, but Tehillim are said by the Omud. In Lithuania the Minhag was (and still is in Litvak Shuls in Israel) to say all of Kabbolas Shabbos, including Lechu Neranenoh by the Omud. (Maybe this is because of the Gro's Minhag not to say at all).

So there is no known minhag to say tehillim "and" Le'cho Doudi from the bimah but only Le'cho Doudi?

The Lithunian Minhag is to say both by the Bimah, (and the Chasidic Nusach is to say everything by the Omud).

You can see more on the way Kabbolas Shabbos was accepted in Divrei Kehillos page 62.
