What is the source of the 4 pesukim (Tehilas Hashem, etc.) said after Shir haMaalos (or Al Naharos Bavel) before Birkas haMazon? I know that Minhag Ashkenaz includes them, and that among those of East European background, some say them and some don't. They don't seem to be part of the original minhag (of Shir haMaalos / Al Naharos Bavel) that is brought by the Shela"h.

If saying Tehillas Hashem is according to the Arizal then why is it that it seems Chasidim who generally follow the Arizal don't say this?
Any idea why among non-Chasidic Eastern European Jews some (a minority perhaps) do say it while most do not?

The Chassidim do not always follow the Arizal. There are places that they follow the Arizal and places that we follow the Arizal and the Chassidim don't. In general in Ashkenaz Minhogim where accepted from the Arizal sometimes, in case that this didn't contradict a Minhag.
