Erev Pesach Shechal L'heyos b'Shabbos was created by Daniel
Concerning this past Shabbos, is the Minhag to be machmir and to wash twice before the zman of issur chometz or do we only wash one time and rely on eating fruit and the like in the afternoon?

According to Poskei Ashkenaz you can not be יוצא in a se'udoh before the time of Mincho, therefore the morning se'udoh was not split.
Se'udoh Shlishis was done with fruits, as brought in the Maharil.
